Church Watch

Every summer we endeavour to open St. Giles for the afternoon for passing visitors.  Judging by the comments in the Visitors Book this is much appreciated.  It is important that this beautiful Church is made available, otherwise it remains locked up for the majority of the week. 

If you can spare one hour once a week, or fortnight, between June and September, please let us know at the Parish Office at stgiles@parishoffice.eclipse.co.uk
 
Letters for last year's Church Watch members are in the pigeonholes in the Church porch awaiting collection.

Kneelers and Cushions Fund

The kneelers and cushions in the Chancel and at the Altar rail are in urgent need of replacement. 

We have launched a special appeal to raise £1,500 for this important work.  Any donations would be very much appreciated, or individual kneelers or cushions can be given in memory of loved ones for £100 each.  A small plaque in the Choir stalls will commemorate the names. 

Please make cheques payable to St. Giles PCC and give them either to the Rector, Hon. Treasurer Mrs. Mary Compton, or through the Parish Office letterbox.

Your Time, Your Skills, Our Church, Our Work

Giving something of our time and skills can be a very rewarding experience, especially when we can see it makes a difference.




St. Giles is completely reliant on volunteers, people of all ages and backgrounds, who put something back in order for our common life to flourish.

 		       


In deciding to volunteer for something, it is important that our time, skills and experience are matched to the right job so that we can play to our strengths.

In this sense please take time to complete the 'It's got to be Worth It' questionnaire and return it to the Parish Office as it will give us some idea about your preferences and experience.

It is our guarantee at St. Giles that all jobs are for a set time only and will be accompanied by training and regular support.
